David A McComber
Rochester, NY USNR BMC David A. McComber of Rochester passed away February 28, 2011.
He was born September 26, 1946 in Massena, NY to the late Ronald F. and Josephine T. Schwartz McComber. He was married to Sharon Christopher who survives.
His family owned a dairy farm in Brasher Falls and moved to Niagara Falls in 1951. He was proud of his father’s military service in WWII, and David proudly served in the US Navy beginning in 1963 and finished with the Navy Reserves in 1970.
After he moved to Rochester in 1969, he later became a foreman at Eastman Kodak Co. He was a skilled archer and was devoted to the Rochester Bow Hunters of Bergen, NY where he won several awards in archery tournaments across NYS.
He leaves behind his wife Sharon; 2 sons Clifford McComber and Justin (Carmen) McComber, and 3 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an older sister Barbara Ann McComber in 1964 at the young age of 21.
A funeral service was held in Olean on March 4, 2011 with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
