Obituary of Eva B. Wilber

Allegany- Eva B. Wilber, 93, formerly of Pumpkin Hollow Road where she resided most of her life, passed away peacefully Wednesday (March 13, 2023) at the Olean General Hospital. Born April 5, 1930, in Humphrey she was the daughter of Alfred and Blanche Bart Thurston and was the youngest of 10 children. On December 6, 1964, she married Enoch Wilber who predeceased her on May 5, 2000. Mrs. Wilber loved animals, especially her cat Marshmallow. In her free time, she enjoyed being outdoors, doing yard work, going to bingo, baking, and listening to country music, especially Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. She loved spending time with her friends, most importantly being with her grandchildren. Every birthday she would enjoy a strawberry daiquiri. Mrs. Wilber will be missed for being kind, compassionate, and well-liked by all. She would often show her kind spirit by supporting St. Jude’s and the SPCA. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren whom she adopted and raised, Tracy (Sheila)Burnett, Bob (Jim)Burnett, and Doug (Shavonne) Burnett, Laurie McGavisk and Tammy McGavisk; great-grandchildren, Carley, Makayla, Megan, Matthew, Zachary, Maddyn, and Brandyn, and great-great grandchildren, Liam, Penelope, Arieona, Wyatt, Olivia, Rosamae and Michael Jr. And special family member Larry Graham. She was predeceased by her daughter Cindy McGavisk. Friends will be received Monday (March 18, 2024) from 11 am to 12 pm at the Casey, Halwig, and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. A funeral service will begin at noon. Burial will be in Five Mile Cemetery, Allegany.
