Obituary of Jerry W. Elliott

Portville, NY Jerry W. Elliott, 48, of 387 Portville Eldred Rd., passed away unexpectedly Saturday (December 23, 2023) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born April 15, 1975 in Seymour, IN, he was the son of Dan Elliott and Deanna Richardson. On July 15, 2000 in Olean, he married Tammy Peterson who survives.
Jerry was a graduate of Portville Central School and attended its BOCES program. He worked for SubCon Industries, and later worked for the Seneca Allegany Casino. He was currently working for Walmart in Allegany.
As a young man he joined the junior fire department in Weston Mills and later became an active member of the Portville Fire Department. He loved fishing and hunting, especially with his family. He also loved sports and enjoyed being involved with his kids in all their activities, including dirt track racing. He always showed a concern for others, loved cookouts on the grill, and was an especially good cook.
He leaves behind his wife Tammy; 2 sons Patrick Elliott and Payton Elliott, both of Portville; 1 brother Chris (Tami) Elliott of Portville; nieces and nephews, Justus, Austin, Maison, Alaina, and Jacoby; his mother Deanna Richardson of Colombus, IN; his stepmother Debbie Elliott of Eldred, PA; his maternal grandmother Margie Richardson of Brownstown, IN, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Dan on November 19, 2022.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1-3pm and 6-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will be held Wednesday (January 3, 2024) at 11am in the funeral home. Rev. Robert Johnson, of the Open Arms Tabernacle in Portville, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
Please join the family for a luncheon after the service at the Olean VFW, 1238 Route 16S.
Memorials may be made to Portville Youth Baseball or Portville Youth Football. The family also is accepting any donations to be used to offset funeral expenses.
