Mary T. Welch Allegany, NY Mary T. Welch, of 2936 Five Mile Rd., went to her heavenly home Wednesday (September 20, 2023) at Absolut Care of Allegany following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. Born March 3, 1935 in Olean, she was the daughter of the late Cesare and Mary Karuch Cacciotti. On October 19, 1957 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean she married the love of her life, Charles E. “Dutch” Welch, Jr. who predeceased her on July 18, 2010. Mary attended Olean High School and soon began working at the Bartlett Country Club, Woolworths, and Daystrom Furniture Co. She stopped working to raise her family. She was a dedicated and loving mother who treasured her children and grandchildren. She centered her life around her family and always looked forward to family gatherings. She was a devoted member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Mary is survived by 2 daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Moore and Karen (David, Jr.) Barton, both of Allegany; 1 son Jeffrey (Glenda) Welch of Salamanca; 5 grandchildren, Gary Gardiner, Sindy (Shane) Bliss, Cody (Shelby) Barton, Nicole Barton, and Talon Welch; 6 great grandchildren, Abbey and Aiden Gardiner, Dalton Bliss, Hallie (Tylon) Lewis, Lincoln Barton, and Cayson Barton; a great-great grandson, Calvin Bliss, and many nieces and nephews. Along with her loving husband, she was predeceased by her parents; her precious granddaughter Kiona Welch; her brothers Cesare Cacciotti, Jr., Sylvester Cacciotti, Pascal Cacciotti, and her sisters Ulanda Cacciotti, Madeline Cacciotti, and Rose Bressan. The family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 5-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State St., Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday (September 26, 2023) at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, 202 S. Union St., Olean, NY 14760, or to the American Cancer Society-WNY, 101 John James Audubon Parkway Buffalo, NY 14228.
