Obituary of Virginia F. Herron

Virginia F. "Ginny" Herron Virginia F. “Ginny” Herron , a resident of the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Eden Heights died Friday March 12, 2004. Born June 12, 1910 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Edward and Susie Willis Herron. Miss Herron was a graduate of Olean High School and had attended Westbrook Commercial Academy in Olean. Much of her working life was spent as a switchboard operator, first for the Olean General Hospital, then for the Warren, Pa. Women’s Home and lastly for the Bradford, Pa. hospital prior to her retirement. She was most recently a member of St. Helen’s Church in Hinsdale. She enjoyed reading and knitting and she especially enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. Surviving are a sister-in-law Charlotte Farr of Allegany; 2 nephews Russell (Sarah) Herron of Allegany and David (Janice) Herron of Syracuse and loving family Suzanne (Robert) Piechota of Allegany, Peggy Errera of Bradford, Pa., Jeffrey (Kay) Karl of Allegany and Sally Karl Fisher of Allegany. She was predeceased by 2 brothers !LaVerne Herron and Howard Herron and a cousin Mary Karl. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean on Tuesday March 16, 2004 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Interfaith Caregivers.
