Obituary of Mary C. Anderson

Mary C. Anderson Olean, NY-- Mary C. Anderson of 110 N. 12th St. died Monday (March 15, 2004) in the Olean General Hospital after a short illness. Born November 18, 1911 in Dora, PA she was the daughter of James and Ester Dinger Young. She was married to Earl Anderson who predeceased her September 14, 1978. Mrs. Anderson attended school in Ringold, PA and had been a resident of Olean for the past 46 years. Along with her husband she worked as a domestic and business housecleaner. She loved crocheting blankets and making afghans for her family and friends. Surviving are one daughter Doris Marlene (Richard) Chambers of Olean; three stepdaughters Joan Cornelius of Shinglehouse, PA, Sandy Baldwin of Bolivar, NY and Beverly (Bill) Plowman of Bradford, PA; two stepsons Chuck Anderson of Georgia and Bob Anderson of California; 6 grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 37 step great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; 1 sister Bernice Young of Brockway, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son Robert Reitz on June 20, 2000; two step great grandchildren; three brothers and seven sisters. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 7-9pm and on Friday (March 19, 2004) from 10:00am until 11:00am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
