Obituary of Susan M. App

Susan M. App Olean, NY Susan M. App, 67, of Olean, passed away Friday (April 21, 2023) at the Olean General Hospital after suffering for many years from cancer. Born March 5, 1956 in Olean, she was the daughter of Harold A. and H. Joan Reck Long, Jr. On May 20, 1977 she married Theodore R. App who survives. Susie was a graduate of Olean High School and worked for a period of time for the former Bradner’s Department Store. She was a very kind and loving person, and enjoyed doing many crafts, especially wood burning. She leaves behind her husband Ted of 46 years; 2 children, Shaun (Angie) App of Olean and Dustin App of Erie, PA; 2 grandchildren Cooper App and Isabella App; 3 sisters Bonnie (John) Kuhn of Allegany, Barbara (Tim Dugan) Quinlan of Franklinville, and Christine (Dan MacDonald) Thompson of Olean; a sister-in-law Sharon Conlon of Kingston, and 2 brothers-in-law Jeff App and Eddie App, both of Olean, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; 2 sisters Cheryl LaRue and Sandra Sweet; a brother Harold “Andy” Long, III, a sister-in-law Dodie App Rhinehart; 2 brothers-in-law Philip Thompson, and William Quinlan, and a nephew Tim LaRue. At Susie’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the SPCA, 1644 Olean-Hinsdale Rd., Olean, NY 14760. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
