Portville- David W. Downs, 56, passed away Friday (January 13, 2023) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born September 9, 1964, in Rockville, MD, he was the son of James and Clara Gordy Downs.
David worked as a dietary chef for the Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport.
In his free time, he enjoyed fixing cellphones and tinkering with whatever he could get his hands on. David had a great passion for food, football and most importantly, his family.
Surviving are his 4 children, James (Jordan) Downs of Olean, Matthew Downs of Amherst, Ashley (Ian) McMullen of Hooversville, PA, and Joshua (Brittany) Downs of Shinglehouse, PA; his grandchildren; 1 sister Clara Jump of Clearwater, FL and several nieces and nephews.
At David’s request, no services are being scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy, Amherst, NY 14228.
