June E. Blazejewski
Allegany, NY June E. Blazejewski, a lifelong resident of Allegany, New York, passed away at The Pines of Olean on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, following a lengthy illness.
Born June 12, 1940, she was the daughter of Guy N. and Nellie E. Schryver Hitchcock. She graduated from Allegany High School, class of 1957.
On June 23, 1962, she married Paul A. Blazejewski who survives. She was employed as a telephone operator following high school and during the early years of her marriage. Over the years June enjoyed the company of her many pet dogs and cats, painting ceramics, cake decorating, and watching the wildlife in her backyard. She was also Tax Collector for the Town of Humphrey for a short time and she, along with her husband, were long time members of the ARVAS fish club. Paul and June were also in-home caregivers at their home in Allegany during the 1980's.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, June is survived by two sons, Tim (Kim Teuscher) Blazejewski and Brian (Bethany) Blazejewski, both of Olean; grandchildren Jordan (Rachel Woeller) Blazejewski, Bradley Blazejewski, Brenton Blazejewski, Ashley Blazejewski- Coutant, Shelby (Matt) Falk, Alexander Blazejewski, Sarah (Mike Ganoung) Blazejewski, Adam Stark, Matthew Blazejewski, Lauren Blazejewski and Ryan Blazejewski; great grandchildren Kevin and Jennifer Falk, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Tom and Ginger Blazejewski, Susan Hartloff, and Janet Hitchcock.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Glen Hitchcock and Aletha Burlingame.
Friends will be received on Saturday, December 31, 2022, from 10-11 am at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean, NY. Funeral services will begin at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Michael Reyes, OFM, Pastor of St. Bonaventure Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
