Betsy Ann See Hinsdale, NY Betsy Ann See, 57, of Hinsdale, passed away peacefully Wednesday (September 14, 2022) at her home, with her loved ones by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 13, 1964 in Olean, she was the daughter of Walter A. Smith and Sharon Knowlton Burlingame. She was principally raised by her mother Sharon, and Sharon’s husband, Darryl Burlingame. On May 24, 1980 at the Church of the Nazarene, she married the love of her life, William H. See, who survives. Betsy attended both Olean and Hinsdale schools and later worked for Hinsdale Central School as a cafeteria monitor and janitor for many years, but her proudest job was taking care of her family. She loved to travel and make memories with her family. She fulfilled her “bucket list” with one last trip to the casino with her husband, parents, and siblings a few days prior to her passing. She will be missed dearly and loved by all who knew her. She leaves behind her husband Bill of 42 years; her parents Darryl and Sharon Burlingame of Randolph; 3 children Bethanie See, Balynda (Mitch Erdmann) See, and William (Denise) See, all of Hinsdale, along with her extended daughters, Sharon See and Jamie Weatherley whom she took under her wing; 9 grandchildren Cameryn Roulo, Azelyn Erdmann, Aaliyah See, Calym Weatherley, Cyler Weatherley, Liam See, Cassius See, William See, and Atom See; her siblings, Cheryl See of Olean, Tina (George) See of Ischua, Darryl (Carrie) Burlingame of Warren, PA, and Melissa (Tim) Burrows of Portville, Danelle Hall of Lansing, Kansas, and Darcy Burlingame of Olean, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Walter A. Smith and her mother-in-law and father-in law William and Marjorie See. At Betsy’s request, no formal burial services will be held. An informal celebration of life gathering will be held in her memory on Saturday (October 1, 2022) at 3:30pm. It will take place at her home on Hardscramble Rd. All are welcome to attend. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
