Obituary of Dr. Dinesh K. Lahoti

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that Dr. Dinesh Kumar Lahoti, 71, of Allegany, NY passed away on Wednesday, August 10th in Philadelphia, PA surrounded by his family. He grew up in India and moved to the United States for his medical training. He practiced as a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology in the Olean area since 1986 and continued to do so until the time of his death. He cared deeply about his patients and was a beloved and highly respected member of his community. He is also well known for his love for animals and passionate advocacy for animal rescue. He was an avid fan of the Indian cricket team. He loved to read, enjoyed history and could often be found sharing his vast knowledge. He doted on his granddaughter Riya who brought him great joy. He was a devoted father and husband who would stop at nothing to give the world to his family. Dinesh is survived by his wife, Manju; mother, Sarla; brothers, Yogesh and Deepak; son, Mayank and his wife Monique; daughter, Neha and her husband Aditya; granddaughter, Riya; dogs, Bruno and Milo. Service will be held Saturday August 13 at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 NYS Route 417W at 4:00 pm(viewing), 5:30 (memorial) followed by dinner. All are welcome to share stories of remembrance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to SPCA in Cattaraugus County or The Humane Society.
