Obituary of Judy A. Young

Judy A. Young Allegany, NY Judy A. Young, of 3425 N. 7th St., passed away at home on Friday (June 17, 2022) after an 11-year battle with cancer. She was born on September 30, 1949 to Merle and Dorothy Ahrens Ostergard. After graduating from Olean High School, she went to work as a ward clerk for Olean General Hospital. On July 11, 1970 she married R. Jeff Young who survives. Judy and Jeff moved to Norfolk, VA for him to complete his Naval service. After completion, they moved to Allegany where they have made their home for 50 years. She worked for JC Penny in Olean for a number of years. The greatest joy in her life was spending holidays with her family and friends, the best of which was Christmas Eve. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she enjoyed watching each of their accomplishments. She leaves behind her loving husband Jeff, a son R. Michael (Sonia) Young; 5 special grandchildren, Jordan, Jena (Nick) Conway, Julia (James) Zillman, Justin Young and Jackson Young, and a beautiful great granddaughter Quinn. Also surviving are a sister, Linda (Robert) Swope; a very special niece Tara (Miles) Saksek, a special nephew Jason (Andie) Swope, and several other nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law Daniel (Christine) Young, and a cousin Kirk (Kathy) Osgood. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother John, an aunt Jeanne Ahrens, and several other aunts and uncles. There will be no visitation and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
