Obituary of Linda S. Hopkins

Linda S. Hopkins Allegany, NY Linda S. Hopkins, 62, of 4115 S. Nine Mile Rd., Lot 116, passed away unexpectedly Thursday (April 28, 2022) at her home. Born June 4, 1959 in Olean, she was one of 8 children born to Allen and Barbara “Bonnie” Putt Gardner. On June 24, 1987 in Washington, she married Glenn E. Hopkins who survives. Linda was a graduate of Allegany Central School. She and Glenn moved to the Houston, Texas area in 1978 and she worked over 30 years for Glesby-Marks Leasing as an office secretary and manager. They moved to the state of Washington where she continued with the same company until moving back to Allegany in 2001. She spent several years working at Community Bank in Olean for their loan operations department, and for a short while she worked at the ReHabilitation Center. She spent 4 years as a clerk at the 7-11 convenience store in Allegany. She was currently an employee of St. Bonaventure University in their food service department. Wherever Linda lived, worked, or shopped, she easily made friends and naturally shared her smile with them. She treasured all her friendships and acquaintances. She leaves behind her loving husband Glenn, 1 daughter Nicole Hopkins of Allegany; 1 son Micah (Jamie) Hopkins of Harriman, TN and who is currently serving in Kuwait with the US Army; 1 granddaughter Kynlee; 1 grandson Hunter; 6 siblings Deb (Patrick) Boylan of Burnsville, MN, Calvin (Lisa) Gardner of Allegany, Cheryl (Tom Cummins) LeBlanc of Daytona, FL, Connie (Jim Johnston) Wetherby of Olean, Rodney (Missy) Gardner of Burleson, Texas and Lisa (Don) Bryan of Burnsville, MN and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Diane Mohr in 2005. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Visitation will continue Friday (May 6, 2022) from 3-5pm at which time a funeral service will be held.
