Gary L. Cornell Olean, NY Gary L. Cornell, 73, of Garden Avenue passed away Tuesday (September 21, 2021) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 23, 1948 in Buffalo, he was the son of Glenn and Geraldine Joy Cornell. Gary spent many years cleaning at the Cattaraugus County Building and working at SubCon Industries. In his free time, he enjoyed walking, listening to Classic Rock, and could often be seen at Country Fair where he would enjoy his coffee. Gary was a kind man with a great sense of humor and found great joy in being with his family. Surviving are his 5 siblings, Liddy Joy of Barefoot Bay, FL, William Cornell of Buffalo, Roger Cornell of Olean, Robert Cornell of Ashford and Cheryl Martin of Olean; a special nephew Scott Martin, and several other nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by all his friends at Intandem. He was predeceased by a brother Glenn Cornell and a sister Carolyn Ballistrea. A celebration of life will be announced in the spring. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home. Memorials if desired may be made to Intandem, 1439 Buffalo St, Olean, NY 14760.
