Obituary of Scott C. Paschen

Scott C. “Scooter” Paschen Allegany, NY Scott C. “Scooter” Paschen, 19, of 105 N. 1st St., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (August 11, 2021). Born August 24, 2002 in Olean, he was the son of Jeffrey Paschen and Danielle Viereck Finch. Jeffrey passed away when Scott was an infant and Mark Finch has been his “Dad” ever since. Scott was passionate about tinkering in the garage, mostly detailing cars or working on them mechanically. There was never anyone he wouldn’t help with their car troubles, and he would drop what he was doing, grab his tools, and respond without any expectation of payment. He was most happy when hanging with his “garage buddies” and he especially enjoyed his special friendship with Kyle. Since his early years as a 5-year-old until the present, he loved being with the firefighter families in this area. He started his volunteer training as a member with restrictions for the Allegany Engine Co., Inc. along with his Dad and mother’s encouragement. He served faithfully as an active member with the department as he grew into an adult. He leaves behind his mother Danielle Finch, his Dad Mark Finch, both of Allegany; his sister Rachel (Christopher) Paar of Mount Jewett, PA; his brother Mitchell (Erica Hatzell) Finch of Portville; his maternal grandparents Dennis and Cathy Viereck of Little Valley and Linda and Randy Henderson of Allegany; his maternal great-grandmother Leeora Viereck of Little Valley; his paternal grandmother Ann Paschen-Poole of Little Valley; his grandparents Bill and Mary Jane Finch of Allegany and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was looking forward to the upcoming birth of both a niece and a nephew. Scott was predeceased by his father Jeffrey in 2002; his paternal grandfather Terry Paschen; his paternal grandmother Susan Paschen; his maternal great grandfather Paul Vierack and an uncle Brian Paschen. The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the St. Bonaventure Church, 95 E. Main St., Allegany. A funeral service will be held Monday (August 16, 2021) at 11am in the church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Engine Co., Inc. 188 W. Main St., Allegany, NY 14706. Scott will be given firefighter honors at the church Sunday evening at 8:30pm with a brief memorial, and again on Thursday where the area fire departments will be providing transportation to his final resting spot.
