Charles J. Ofano Charles J. Ofano died Wednesday evening, October 16, 2002 in his home of complications following a long illness. He was 65. He was born in Washington D.C. on July 20, 1937. Mr. Ofano served in the U.S Marine Corp and the U.S. Airforce from 1954 to 1959. He lived in the D.C. metropolitan area until 1979, when he and his family relocated to Olean, NY. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sheila Marie Ofano; two sons, Anthony James. and Susan Ofano (NY) and Charles Christopher and Janet Ofano (NY); three daughters, Teresa Lynn Ofano (MD), Denise Marie Fagan (MD) and Michelle Janine Ofano (NY); four grandchildren, Chaz Edwards, Steven Campbell, and Eddie and Madison Fagan. Mr. Ofano was also survived by his sister, Mary Francis Penna (VA); his step-father, Albert T. Penna (VA); his sisters-in-law Nancy and Herbert Oakes (NY) and Patricia Davis (TN); and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig, & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean on Friday, October 18, 2002 from 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Mount Zion Christian Assembly, located at 361 Front Street in Olean, NY, on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. The burial will take place at the Allegany Cemetery in Allegany, NY immediately following the service. Friends and family are welcome. Memorials should be directed to Mount Zion Christian Assembly.
