DANIEL V. KARL Fairport – Daniel V. Karl of 63 High Street died Thursday July 22, 2004 in his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Olean on March 30, 1949 he was a son of Vincent H. and Marian A. Brol Karl. Mr. Karl received his Bachelor's degree at St. John Fisher College. He later earned his Master's degree in Divinity at St. Bernard Seminary. Mr. Karl was currently employed at the Flower City Health Care Center. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially camping and hiking. He is survived by two sisters, Diane (James) Batesky of Onalaska, WI and Sylvia (Ken) Moyer of Allegany; a brother Frank (Karen) Karl of !VanAlstyne, TX and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both parents. Friends will be received on Sunday July 25, 2004 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday July 26, 2004 beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bonaventure Church, Allegany at 10:00 AM. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or to Wilmot Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital.
