Barbara F. Mitchell Olean, NY-- Barbara F. Mitchell of 126 N. 9th St. died Wednesday (August 18, 2004) in the Olean General Hospital. Born February 11, 1933 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Russell and Katherine Zimmerman Lycett. On April 14, 1962 in Olean she married Charles W. Mitchell who predeceased her January 10, 1989. Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate of Salamanca High School and of Westbrook Commercial Academy in Olean. She had been a resident of Olean since 1962 and had worked as a secretary for the former Mushroom Transportation Co. and was also a member of the Olean Senior League. Surviving are one son Kip (Brenda) Springer of Olean; one stepdaughter Joyce (Ted) Gratz of Olean; one stepson Chares W. Mitchell, Jr. of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one brother Robert (Patricia) Lycett of Carrollton and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 6-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (August 21, 2004) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
