Obituary of Estelle Sczudlo Kosinski

ESTELLE SCZUDLO KOSINSKI "Loving mother and grandmother" Olean, NY-- Estelle Sczudlo Kosinski of 614 Homer St. died Thursday (November 6, 2003) in the Olean General Hospital. Born June 29, 1917 in Bayonne, New Jersey she was the daughter of Stanley and Catherine Lyaski Sczudlo. On July 4, 1946 in Olean she married John F. Kosinski who predeceased her September 4, 1990. Mrs. Kosinski worked as a housekeeper for many years and later worked for Hydrocarbons in Olean. She was last employed as a cook in the cafeteria for the former Manufacturers Hanover Bank in Olean. She was a member of Transfiguration Church and she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She also took pleasure in doing handiwork and tending to her many plants. Surviving are a daughter Catherine "Cathy" Foss of Olean; 2 sons Paul M. (Margie) Kosinski and Stanley J. Kosinski, both of Olean; 4 granddaughters Jennifer L. Foss, Michele A. (Joe) Bartholomew, Andrea L. Kosinski and Melissa A. Kosinski; 1 brother Benjamin (Dorothy) Sczudlo of Olean and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 3 brothers Francis Sczudlo, Anthony Sczudlo and Raymond Sczudlo. Friends will be received today from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (November 8, 2003) beginning with a prayer service at 9:15am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Transfiguration Church. Rev. Jerome Stelmach, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
