John L. Quigley Olean, NY John L. Quigley, 65, of 131 N. 13th St. passed away Saturday (April 1, 2017) at the Buffalo General Hospital from a ten-year battle with several cancers. Born April 18, 1951 at the former St. Francis Hospital in Olean he was the son of Richard J. and Ann J. Driscoll Quigley. On October 7, 2011 he married his loving companion of many years, Margaret "Margie" M. Goodemote who survives. John attended St. Mary of the Angels Parochial School and was a 1969 graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School. His most recent employment was at Certo Bros., formerly Allegany Beverage Co., where he was a salesman for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, the Olean Eagle's Club, the Olean Elks Lodge and the Allegany American Legion. He will miss his cats, especially his most beloved one, Frankie. Surviving besides his wife are 5 siblings Michael (Patricia) Quigley and Joseph (Kay) Quigley, both of Allegany, Kathleen Quigley and Mary Quigley, both of Olean and Ann (Kellie Piekarsky) Quigley of Reston, VA and many nieces and nephews; Additional family members, all formerly of Olean, include his father-in-law and mother-in-law Neil and Joan Goodemote of Marietta, GA; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law David Goodemote of Reading, MA, Patricia (Anthony) Titus of Olean, Gary (Mary) Goodemote of Brattleboro, VT, Suzi Goodemote of Chattanooga, TN, Nancy Goodemote of Dallas, GA and Mary (Greg) Miller of Kennesaw, GA. He is also survived by 2 very special friends Kristin Carpenter Hovey and Denise Carpenter, both of Olean. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister-in-law Linda L. Goodemote. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 4-7pm and again on Friday (April 7, 2017) from 10-11am at which time a prayer service will begin. Rev. David Tourville, associate pastor of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, 202 S. Union St., Olean, NY 14760 or to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm and Carlton St., Buffalo, NY 14263.
