Obituary of Geraldine L. Lengvarsky

Geraldine L. "Gerry" Lengvarsky "Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother" Olean, NY Geraldine L. "Gerry" Lengvarsky, 89, of 3100 Cranberry Ct. passed away Wednesday (March 8, 2017) at the Olean General Hospital. Born June 3, 1927 in Allegany she was the daughter of Leo and Thelma Dunham Hitchcock. On June 9, 1945 in Allegany she married John J. Lengvarsky who predeceased her December 20, 1988. Mrs. Lengvarsky was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked at the former Loretta Foods for over 15 years. She was a former member of the Eagle's Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling, bingo, camping and traveling. Her family was precious to her and she loved surprise trips with her granddaughter Kylie. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and having cookouts. Surviving are 4 sons John Lengvarsky of Portville, William Lengvarsky of West Palm Beach, FL, Edward (Pat) Lengvarsky of New Port Richey, FL and Donald (Denise) Lengvarsky of Allegany; 3 daughters Priscilla (James) Stark of Allegany, Darla Lengvarsky of Olean and Janet (Richard) Boon of Olean; 6 grandchildren Martin (Kelly) Lengvarsky, Kylie McLaughlin, Shelby Hubbs, Alicia (Ben) Christen, Beth (Jared Kausner) Lengvarsky and Shannon Johnson; 14 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Betty (Barrie) Glover of Crawfordville, FL, Emeline Belli of Allegany and Glenda Malarae of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 3 brothers William Hitchcock, Wayne Hitchcock and Edward Hitchcock and 4 sisters Norma Quattrone, Janet Cornell, Gloria Wolfe and Phyllis Muehlnickel. Friends will be received on Saturday (March 11, 2017) from 11am to 2pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State St. Olean. Services will begin at 2pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Five Mile Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
