Obituary of Ronald A. Phearsdorf

Ronald A. Phearsdorf Olean, NY Ronald A. Phearsdorf, 85, of 115 E. Connell St. passed away Friday (January 27, 2017) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born January 11, 1932 in Allegany he was the son of Harold Vincent and Edna Elizabeth Allen Phearsdorf. On June 12, 1954 in Cuba he married Thelma R. "Sookie" Phearsdorf who predeceased him June 11, 2015. Mr. Phearsdorf was a graduate of Allegany High School and had been employed for 40 years at Dresser Rand Co. in Olean prior to his retirement. He enjoyed relaxing on his porch and talking with neighbors. He also loved to play euchre and enjoyed the company of his longtime euchre buddies. Along with his wife he took frequent trips with highlights being Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Hawaii. Surviving are 4 daughters Deborah Phearsdorf, Cathy (Jeff) Miller, Sherry Lawton and Lisa (Steve Bushnell) Phearsdorf, all of Olean; 1 son Terry (Sherri) Phearsdorf of Olean; 1 granddaughter Ariale (Jason) Miller of Allegany; a grandson Brandon (Lauren Dorgan) Phearsdorf of Tampa Bay, FL; 3 siblings Mildred Stuck of Allegany, James (Judy) Phearsdorf of Olean and Hazel "Dolly" (Robert) McCartney of Prenticevale, PA; several nieces and nephews and a favorite cousin Barbara Skudlarek of Salamanca. He was predeceased by a great grandson Kolby Phearsdorf. At Mr. Phearsdorf's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial will be planned for a later date.
