Obituary of Robert J. Budaj

Robert J. Budaj Olean, NY Robert J. Budaj, 73, of 204 E. Pine St. passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (October 11, 2016) at his home. Born October 2, 1943 in Olean he was the son of Joseph and Bernice Rogosienski Budaj. Robert was a 1961 graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean all of his life. He served with the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and was a Vietnam veteran. He was married twice, first to the former Caroline Babula and later to the former Eileen Barber. He first worked at the former St. Francis Hospital, then owned and operated Budaj Sheet Metal for several years. He later worked at Dresser Rand, Paycam Sheet Metal and Alcas Corporation. Most recently he was working as a courier for Community Bank in Olean. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and woodworking and also loved driving his corvette. Surviving are 6 children Dorothy (Linn) Miller and Mark Budaj, both of Kittery, ME, Lisa (Gary Crossley) Mallon of Rochester, NH, Scott (Carla) Budaj and Aaron (Jennifer) Budaj, both of Olean and Joshua Budaj of Jacksonville, FL; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 sister Patricia (John) Goetz of Lockport and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Budaj in 1982. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday (October 15, 2016) at 11:00am in St. John's Church.
