Dear Sharon, Jimmy, Dickie and Debbie,
Mrs. Baum sent me your father's obituary from the Olean TImes Herald. It, of course, brought back all those childhood memories when he was one of the many wonderful parents who raised us on Willow Street. One thing I will never forget is that your father taught me how to waterski at your cottage on Cuba Lake. So you know that patience and generosity were just two of the gifts that he gave me growing up. Please accept my deepest sympathies and know that both your parents always live on in my heart.
Sincerely,
Dan Brooks

We have many fond memories of our former neighbor and friend, John, and our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We were glad to have been able to stay in touch from afar, and an occasional visit while in Olean. He and Jackie were such a nice couple. May they both rest in peace now, together. Take care.

I want the Orcutt family and extended family to know how much I loved Johnny. Throughout my life, I've been blessed to have had elders around to remind me of the true meaning of life; Love, Respect and Acceptance. We often get distracted by technology and neglect to slow down to enjoy life and the people around us. Johnny was always easy to talk with and it wasn't always by text or email. I like to think of him as part of the "Front Porch" generation, where neighbors actually talked and knew one another.
Johnny loved coming to Oregon twice a year for almost eight years and we loved having him here. He would often say he loved being here because he had his own room, we fed him, washed his clothes and gave him a recliner. In his words "what more could I ask for?" Having him here was an honor and I'm grateful to have spent so much time with him.
Family was very important to him and he loved each and every one. Johnny was so proud of his family and expressed his love often.
Johnny was a man of love, respect and acceptance.
My heart is broken, I love you Johnny.
