Garl G. Otts OLEAN, NY – Garl G. Otts of Beaverton, AL and formerly of Elizabeth City, NC died Monday November 8, 2004 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Beaverton, AL on June 23, 1921 he was a son of Fred and Rena Holliday Otts. In June of 1945 he married Frances Norton who predeceased him in May of 1992. Mr. Otts served in the United States Coast Guard from 1945 through 1965. He continued his employment as an electrician at the base in Elizabeth City, NC, retiring in 1982. In 1985 he moved to Beaverton, AL. Mr. Otts was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was a former member of the Masonic Temple. He is survived by a daughter, Lana Reynolds of Olean, NY; sons, Douglas Otts of Chocowinity, NC and Blair (Susan) Otts of Elizabeth City, NC; seven grandchildren, Michael Reynolds, Rachel (J.J.) Farrell, Amy (Bill) Thompson, David (Leslie) Otts, Daniel (Valerie) Reynolds, Ashley Otts and Sherry Otts; two great grandchildren, Alexander Reynolds and Graysen Farrell; sister Erlene Lockhart; brothers Arlon Otts of Bowden, GA and Roosevelt Otts of Sardis, MS. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by one brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday November 13, 2004 at Otts Funeral Home, 4255 Highway 278 West, Sulligent, AL 35586. Burial will be in Crews Cemetery, Crews, AL. Memorials may be made to the Crews Cemetery Association, c/o First State Bank, PO Box 596, Sulligent, AL 35586
