Jane H. Reid-Simpson Olean, NY Jane H. Reid-Simpson of 1305 W. Sullivan St. passed away Friday (December 18, 2015) at her home, in the loving comfort of her family, after a long illness. Born July 18, 1947 in Kane, PA she was the daughter of James Franklin and Gertrude Elizabeth Simon Reid. For the past 20 years she had been in a relationship with her loving companion Robert H. Simpson who survives. Jane had attended Bradford, PA High School and worked as a certified Nurses Aide in the nursing home and home health care fields. She worked at the former Salamanca Nursing Home and more recently for the nursing home in Livingston County. She was a member of Creekside Chapel in Allegany. As one who loved working with children, she devoted her time as a Sunday school teacher and as a loving matriarch of her own children and grandchildren. She prayed unceasingly for her family and thought herself blessed to witness many of them having been recently baptized. Surviving are 6 children Ernest L. (Theresa) Chase, III of Indiana, Randy L. Chase of Olean, James R. Chase of Allegany, Laura L. Chase of Olean, Melinda J. Chase of Olean and Franklin J. Chase of Allegany; 3 stepchildren Amanda Simpson and Robert Simpson, both of Olean and Adam Simpson of Coudersport, PA; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 7 brothers and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Monday (December 28, 2015) from 11am to noon at Creekside Chapel, 2523 Five Mile Rd., Allegany. Funeral services will begin at noon in the church. Rev. Dodi McIntyre, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or to a fund being held at the Creekside Chapel for the benefit of Jane's family defraying some burial expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
