Obituary of Alice E. Jones

Olean- Alice E. Jones, formerly of Allegany and a longtime resident of Eden Heights, passed away Sunday (September 20, 2015) at the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean.
Born November 10, 1917 in East Aurora, NY, she was the daughter of Harry and Susan Shipman Morgan. She married Robert Jones in 1939, he predeceased her December 2, 1999.
Mrs. Jones worked for Rieds Food Markets and as a teller at the former Manufacturers Hanover Bank in Olean. She was a longtime member of the Allegany Auxiliary of Fireman and a member of the 60 Plus in Allegany.
She is survived by her four children Robert D. Jones of South Carolina, William P. Jones of Philadelphia, PA, Janice Jones of St. Cloud, FL and Bonnie Miller of Olean; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter Janet Jones and her siblings Hannah Hurlburt, Ruby Rose, Anne Howland, Albert Morgan, Brice Morgan and Leonard Morgan.
At Mrs. Jones request, there will be no services at this time. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany Volunteer Fire Department PO Box 95, Allegany NY 14760 or to a charity of the donors choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Online condolences can be expressed at www.oleanfuneralhome.com
