Obituary of Lettie B. Hastings

Lettie B. Hastings "loving wife, mother and grandmother" Allegany, NY-- Lettie B. Hastings of 4119 S. Nine Mile Rd. Lot 182 died Tuesday (November 30, 2004) in the Olean General Hospital. She was born on September 3, 1930 in Salamanca, NY and was a graduate of Ellicottville Central School. On August 25, 1951 at the former First Methodist Church of Olean she married William Hastings who survives. Mrs. Hastings was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family, gardening, doing crafts and reading. She also enjoyed talking walks and cooking. She resided in the Tampa, Florida area for a number of years prior to moving back to Allegany in 2000. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked later in her life for the St. Bonaventure University Food Service Division. Surviving besides her husband are one son Daniel Hastings of Allegany; two daughters Lynn (Tom) Brown and Lori (Dwayne) Dziennik, both of Allegany; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; one sister Anna Dash of Rochester and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Evelyn Golley. There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Sunday (December 5, 2004) at 4:00pm in the Christ United Methodist Church. Rev. John Bartz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
