Obituary of JoAnn Skehan

JoAnn Skehan Bakersfield, CA--JoAnn Skehan 77, formerly of Olean, passed away peacefully Monday, June 15, 2009. She was born on June 8, 1932 in Rochester NY to William and Irene Latus. She was married to John Skehan who predeceased her. She later married Eugene Malek who survives. Mrs. Skehan was a mother of eight who liked to volunteer in her community and church. She had been a part of the St. Bonaventure Community for 27 years. She was a very loving and caring person who will be missed by many friends and family. Surviving her are children: Ann Crocker; Patricia Skehan; Michael (Terri) Skehan; Colleen (David) Stone; Molly (John) Laut; Kelly (William) Kenney; Kathy (Rodney) Aiken; thirteen grand children and 2 great grand children, and one sister Patricia Hackett. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and many loving friends. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son Peter Skehan. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig &amp; Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (June 19, 2009) beginning with a prayer service at 10:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am in the St. Bonaventure University Chapel. Father Dan Riley, OFM, will be the principal celebrant.
