"Beloved Mother and Grandmother"
Olean, NY-- Frances I. "Babe" Allison of 102 W. Spring St. died Sunday (February 8, 2009) at The Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean with her family by her side.
Born January 25, 1930 in her home in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of James L. and Frances Storrs Mandel. She was married to Joseph L. Zahn who predeceased her in October of 1954. She then married Raymond Nowak who predeceased her. She later married Jack W. Allison who predeceased her October 14, 1998.
Mrs. Allison was a resident of Olean most of her life and had lived for a period of time in Silver Creek. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and she frequently attended activities at the Olean Senior Center. She lived her life to the fullest and took great comfort in attending church and advocating for Catholicism. She enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Surviving are 5 children Pamela Rubino of Hernandez, FL, David (Loretta) Zahn of Cherry Creek, Karen (Arthur) Clemons of Olean, April (John) Garlow of Farmersville and Marlene Allison of Olean; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren whom reside in the various states of Arizona, Maryland, Nevada, Delaware, New York and Florida; 1 brother James (Eleanor) Mandel of Ransomville; 3 sisters Betty Holstein of St. Petersburg, FL, Suzane (Bob) Boyer of Wilson and Mary Ellen Alt of Wilson; several nieces and nephews and a devoted companion John Hardy, Sr. of Olean.
In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by 1 son Marshall James Allison in 1983; 1 daughter Nanette Nowak in 1998 and 1 sister June Theresa Mandel.
Friends will be received at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean on Wednesday from 4 to 5:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 5:30pm. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church 202 S. Union St. Olean, NY 14760.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
