Obituary of Sandra Farr

Sandra L. Farr "Loving wife, mother and grandmother" Olean, NY-Sandra L. Farr of 114 S. 5th St. died Friday (January 2, 2009) in the Buffalo General Hospital. Born March 15, 1952 in Salamanca, NY she was the daughter of Melvin and Grace Vecchio Brooks. On April 29, 1972 in St. Patrick's Church in Salamanca she married Robert D. Farr who survives. Mrs. Farr was a 1970 graduate of Salamanca High School and had resided in Olean since 1992. She formerly attended St. Patrick's Church in Salamanca. She loved playing bingo, embroidering, doing ceramics and jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. Surviving besides her husband are 1 son Jason Farr of Olean; 2 daughters Julie (James) Wills of Clarksville, TN and Diane (Doug) Link of Olean; 6 grandchildren; 3 sisters, including her twin Judy (William) DeLong of Salamanca, Karen (Larry) Scott of Buffalo and Sharon (James) Taylor of Plattsburg, several nieces and nephews and her mother-in-law Mary Smith of Olean. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son Christopher Farr on May 1, 2002. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (January 6, 2009) at 10:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association 5500 Main St. Williamsville, NY 14221.
