Obituary of Mark Blessing

Mark G. Blessing Allegany-- Mark G. Blessing, of 53 N. 4th Street, passed away Friday (January 30, 2009), at the Olean General Hospital, after a long illness. Born December 13, 1940 in Olean, NY he was the son of Elton "Doc" and Evelyn Todd Blessing. Mr. Blessing was a graduate of Allegany High School and had been employed in the custodial department at the Olean General Hospital for many years prior to his retirement. Surviving are a sister Kay McCarthy of Allegany; a brother Thomas (Donna) Blessing of Olean; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and 2 sisters Nancy Jean Blessing, who died as an infant and Mary Jo Mason. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road Olean on Monday (February 2, 2009) from 12:30-1:30pm. Funeral and committal services will follow at 1:30pm. Rev. Gerald leFeber, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany Fire Department or to a charity of the donor's choice.
