Floyd H. "Fuzzy" Holtz Olean, NY Floyd H. "Fuzzy" Holtz passed away Wednesday (March 4, 2015) upon arrival at the Cuba Memorial Hospital. Born November 28, 1933 at his home on the Cranberry Rd. in Allegany he was the son of Charles G. and Laura V. Miller Holtz. On September 21, 1963 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany he married Kathryn M. Lee who survives. Mr. Holtz enlisted in the US Air Force where he served from 1952 until 1956. Upon discharge he began employment with Dresser Clark Co. where he worked for 42 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Olean, the United Steelworkers Union #4601 Retirees and was a former member of the Allegany American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing with his brothers. He also enjoyed collecting nutcrackers. He lived a fulfilling life and recently comforted his family with the words "I'll soon be a happy camper". Surviving besides his wife are a son Robert (Jane Depp) Holtz of Portville; a daughter Laura Holtz of Olean; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 sisters Vivian (Richard) Layton and Norma Holtz, both of Olean and Carol (Edwin) Constant of Orient; several nieces and nephews and Billy Sterling of Portville whom he cared for like a son. He was predeceased by a son Gerald Holtz in 2006; 3 sisters Ruth Bennett, Doris Holtz and Rita Bennett and 4 brothers Edward Holtz, Thomas Holtz, Charles Holtz and John Holtz. Friends will be received on Sunday (March 8, 2015) from noon until 3:00pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will begin at 3:00pm at the funeral home. Rev. Derek Cheek, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Olean, will officiate. Private burial services will be held at a later date in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Marie Lorenz Dialysis Center, 623 Main St. Olean, NY 14760 or to the Westons Mills Fire Department, 1310 Olean-Portville Rd. Weston Mills, NY 14788.
