Obituary of Cecile Hale

Cecile "Putie" Hale Hinsdale, NY Cecile "Putie" Hale of Sherlock Hollow Rd., recently of The Pines, passed away Saturday (January 24, 2015) at The Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean in the presence of her loving family. Born July 30, 1929 in Olean she was one of five children born to Velma Smith O'Dell. On August 17, 1946 in Portville she married James C. Hale, Sr. who predeceased her November 17, 1998. Mrs. Hale formerly owned and operated a beauty shop in her home in Hinsdale for many years and also worked for the former Acme Electric Co. in Cuba prior to her retirement. She was a member of the St. Stephen's Club in Olean and she loved shopping as well as making trips to the casino. She was also a fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. Surviving are 3 children James (Peggy) Hale, Jr. of Maiden, NC, Suzanne (Walter) Putt and Michael (Kelly) Hale, Sr., both of Hinsdale; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 brother Robert Smith of Portville; 1 sister Nancy (Danny) Main of Cuba and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a sister Terry Lee O'Dell and a brother Lester Maxson. Friends will be received on Tuesday (January 27, 2015) from 4-6pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of visitation at 6:oopm. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
