Obituary of Daniel Shembeda

Daniel A. Shembeda Olean, NY Daniel A. Shembeda of 301 N. 18th St. passed away suddenly Monday (January 12, 2015). Danny was born December 16, 1956 in Olean and was a great athlete while a student at Olean High School. On February 26, 1988 he married Cheryl A. Farr who survives. Together they founded and operated a family-run plumbing and heating business in Olean for over thirty years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, was involved in community activities and served as a former alderman for the City of Olean and also served on the City's Plumbing Board. His wife Cheryl and their two children Sarah Shembeda and Nicholas Shembeda will miss him and remember him as a good, hard working person and loving father. Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday from 3-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday (January 15, 2015) at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. David Tourville, associate pastor, will be the principal celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church Renovation Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
