Terry R. Zink
Allegany, NY Terry R. Zink of 2213 N. Nine Mile Rd. passed away Friday (November 7, 2014) at Strong Memorial Hospital's Heart Transplant Unit after a one and a half year stay. Those who provided such long medical care for him witnessed his tremendous courage and warrior spirit. He hoped his experience would convince others to consider becoming an organ donor.
Born March 25, 1946 in Olean he was the son of Lennis and Letha Tyler Zink. On January 8, 1965 at the Allegany Methodist Church he married Glenna R. Rouse who survives.
Mr. Zink was a 1964 graduate of Allegany Central School where he was a star baseball player. He continued his love for the game by playing in the AlleCatt baseball league until the age of 34. He and his wife moved to Montana where they resided for sixteen years and, with his son-in-law, formed T & J Log Homes. They continued the business in Allegany upon their return to this area.
He was a woodworking craftsman and enjoyed selling his products at outdoor craft shows in this area. He was also a passionate hunter and fisherman, loved caring for dogs, and most enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
