Edna Mae Kranock Olean, NY Edna Mae Kranock, 87, of 132 N. Union St. passed away Thursday (October 30, 2014) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born March 26, 1927 in Olean she was the daughter of Fred and Edna Ruth Vaughn Adsit. She first married Frank Gorney who predeceased her and later married Theodore Stephanovich who also predeceased her. On November 29, 1975 at the Salvation Army in Olean she married George "Red" Kranock who passed away January 30, 2013. Mrs. Kranock operated the former Rainbow Restaurant on North Union St. for many years and also was an eighty-year member of the Salvation Army of Olean. There she taught Sunday school, volunteered at the Thrift Store and was active with the Ladies Ministries Home League. Surviving are a son Frank Gorney, Jr. of Olean; a sister Lillian Armstrong of Olean; two sisters-in-law Ada Capozzi of Brocton and Geraldine Hatch of Painted Post and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by two sisters Azeltha Beseccker and Evelyn Bloom and a brother George Hatch, Sr. Friends may gather with the family for a graveside service to be held Wednesday (November 5, 2014) at 1:00pm at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Majors Richard and Jody Best of the Olean Salvation Army, will co-officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 310 E. State St. Olean, NY 14760.
