Obituary of Ann Neff

Ann Neff Olean, NY-- Ann Neff of 224 Winters Avenue died suddenly Monday (October 28, 2002) in her home. Born February 13, 1927 in Olean she was the daughter of Theodore and Veronica O' Donnell Godfrey. On September 3, 1945 in Olean she married B. Stanley Neff who predeceased her April 18, 1998. Mrs. Neff was a graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean all of her life. She had been employed for many years by the former Carnahan's Men and Boys Clothing Store in Olean. She was a member of the Immanual Lutheran Church in Olean, was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and she had volunteered for many years for Olean General Hospital. She had a special love for animals, particularly those in her neighborhood. Surviving are 1 son Thomas (Deena) Neff of Andover, NY; 1 daughter Sandra (Raphael) Smith of Allegany, NY; 8 grandchldren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister Joyce Lane of Olean and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 1 sister Lolette "Tootie" Smith on March 14, 2002. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Thursday (October 31, 2002) at 11:00am in Immanual Lutheran Church, 4th and Laurens St. Olean. Rev. Dr. J. Arthur Cox of Bradford, Pa, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanual Lutheran Church or to the SPCA in Cattaraugus County 2944 Olean-HInsdale Rd. Olean, NY 14760.
