Obituary of Lois Morasco

Olean, NY Lois I. Morasco, formerly of W. Sullivan St. passed away Saturday (April 26, 2014) at The Pines Healthcare and ReHabilitation Center in Olean. Born May 26, 1920 in Maumee, OH she was the daughter of Frank Albert and Irene Risley Tubbs. In 1962 at the former Free Methodist Church in Olean she married Russell Morasco who predeceased her February 18, 1975. Mrs. Morasco moved to this area in 1953 from Cherry Creek. She had been a member of the Allegany Free Methodist Church (now Creekside Chapel). She was active in the church Missionary Society well as a volunteer in many other capacities with the church, including having taught Sunday School. She also volunteered with Interfaith Caregivers, The Pines Nursing Home through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Linwood Center and the Salvation Army. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Marie Smith of Molalla, Oregon and Wayne Wetmore of Asheville, NC. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 2 brothers Paul Tubbs and Marshall Tubbs and a sister Virginia Wetmore. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home on Thursday (May 1, 2014) from 11:00am until noon at which time funeral and committal services will be held. Rev. Dodi McIntyre, pastor of Creekside Chapel, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Interfaith Caregivers, 34 N. 4th St. Allegany, NY 14706.
