Anita Sue Black
Olean, NY Anita Sue Black of 322 N. 6th St. passed away Thursday (February 20, 2014) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born July 21, 1955 in Springville, she was raised with love by her grandparents Dee E. and Anita Wood.
"Sue", as she was more commonly known, had attended school at Atlantic Union College near Boston, MA and for a period of time worked for W.R. Case & Son Cutlery in Bradford. She was formerly involved with the Order of the Eastern Star and had formerly attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Arcade.
She was affectionately known in the Olean area as "mother to just about anybody" because of the number of young people whom she helped care for and mentor over the years.
Surviving is her longtime companion Robert L. Russell with whom she resided; 1 son Michael; 1 daughter Maria and 1 cousin Judy Hughes of Arcade.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday (March 1, 2014) from 10am until 11am at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. David Outman, a friend to Sue, will officiate. Burial will be on the family plot in Sardinia Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
