Robert J. Halleck
Olean, NY Robert J. Halleck, formerly of the Olean House Apartments and recently of 615 E. State St. passed away Sunday (February 23, 2014) at The Absolut Care of Salamanca after a lengthy illness.
Born April 28, 1928 in Olean he was the son of Lawrence W. and Mary Henry Halleck, Sr.
Mr. Halleck resided in Olean most of his life and had been employed as a driver for the former Betty's Flower Shop and later for Mandy's Flowers prior to his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and was one who loved all sports, especially St. Bonaventure Bonnies basketball and Buffalo Bills football. He also loved animals and was a fan of the comic book superheroes Batman and Robin.
Surviving are 2 nieces, 1 nephew, several cousins and two close friends with whom he resided in recent years Dawn and Lisa Shelley of Olean.
He was predeceased by two brothers James Halleck and Lawrence Halleck, Jr.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday (February 26, 2014) at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
