William D. Havers Tempe, AZ William D. Havers, 90, of Tempe, AZ and a former resident of Allegany passed away Saturday (December 21, 2013) in Doctor's Memorial Hospital in Perry, Florida. Born March 25, 1923 in Lapeer, MI he was the son of Stuart and Carrie Mae Wheeler Havers. On May 15, 1942 he married Louise Scott who predeceased him March 16, 1995. Mr. Havers was a self employed carpenter in both the Olean and Buffalo areas prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family. Surviving are four children Diane Rossell of Tempe, AZ, Doug Havers of Tempe, AZ, Michael Havers of Great Valley and Martha Rogers of Scottsdale, AZ; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother Ed (Mary) Havers of Olean and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a son Randy Havers in 2010; a daughter Magdelyn Ruby in 2005 and a granddaughter Abigail Ruby in 2013. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 6-9pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (December 31, 2013) at 9:15am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
