Olean- Shirley M. Besok, of 115 West Green Street, passed away Friday (August 16, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital, after a long illness. Born May 21, 1933 in Olean she was the daughter of James and Doris Shirley Thompson. Mrs. Besok was a graduate of Olean High School. She was employed for many years at AVX in Olean as a kiln operator. She enjoyed lottery scratch offs, playing bingo, crossword puzzles and reading. Surviving are her five children Alan Baker of Olean, Gail (Gary) Feuchter of Olean, John (Kathy) Besok of Bradford, PA, Shirley Barton of Channelview TX, Robert Besok of Olean; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings James Thompson, Pat Wilkins, Carol Jordan, Sue Patterson, Jerry Thompson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two children Steven Baker and Valerie Taylor. There will be no funeral services at this time. Burial will take place at Mt. View Cemetery and will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials if desired may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W.
