Obituary of Raymond Dieteman

Raymond J. Dieteman Olean, NY Raymond J. Dieteman, 88, of Eden Heights, formerly of 119 N. 3rd St. passed away Saturday (July 27, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Raymond was born December 19, 1924 in Olean. He was the son of Alfred and Lavica Senear Dieteman. On September 29, 1950 in Allegany he married his wife of sixty one years, Marjorie Kellogg, who passed away April 27, 2011. Raymond was a 1942 graduate of Allegany High School and had served in the US Navy as a Seaman during WWII. He worked for Dresser Industries for twenty seven years, retiring in 1984. After retirement he worked for McCoy's Hardware for many years. He was a member of the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 and enjoyed carpentry, fishing and hunting. Surviving are his three sons Stephen J. (Irene) Dieteman of Portville, Gregory K. Dieteman of Denver, CO and Anthony A. (Colleen) Dieteman of Olean; a daughter Michelle M. Inman of Olean; several grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom he loved very much; two sisters Jeanine Pallack of Rochester and Nancy Bellamy of Summerfield, FL, several nieces and nephews, many friends at Eden Heights of Olean and a dear friend Elizabeth Tidd. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by a brother Norman Dieteman and a son-in-law Mark Inman. At Raymond's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service scheduled at this time. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at the family's discretion.
