Obituary of Florence Dorr

Florence M. Dorr Olean, NY Florence M. Dorr of E. Henley Street passed away Sunday (March 24, 2013) at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. Born October 1, 1927 in Olean she was the daughter of Raymond and Grace Wilbur Dorr. Miss Dorr was a longtime resident of Allegany prior to moving to Olean. She had been honored by the former AVX (now Olean Advanced Products) for fifty five years of employment upon her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany and she truly enjoyed attending area festivals over the years, especially the St. Mary of the Angels annual festival. Surviving are one nephew and one niece and a close friend Allison Elderkin Carney of Olean. She was predeceased by two sisters Verna Hensel in 1989 and Dorothy Dorr in 2003. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday (March 30, 2013) from 1 until 3pm. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home. Rev. Dan Buringrud, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
