Sally A. Gayton Allegany, NY Sally A. Gayton, a lifelong resident of Olean, passed away Monday (March 18, 2013) at Absolut Care of Allegany, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born July 13, 1948 in Olean she was the daughter of the late Richard and Elaine Adams Stevens. On April 9, 1988 in Olean she married Harry G. Gayton, Jr. who predeceased her August 13, 2001. Mrs. Gayton was a homemaker and she also worked for the former AVX Co. and the former McGraw Edison Co. (now Cooper Power Systems), both in Olean. Playing bingo was a favorite activity as well as playing card games with her grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters Amy (LaShawn) Cason of Rochester, Kelly Peterson of Olean and Michele Gayton of Rochester; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three sisters Barb Seeley of Little Genesee, Jacquelyn Stevens of Weston's Mills and Linda Stevens of Olean and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a sister Kay Stevens in 2005. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday (March 21, 2013) from 11:00am until 1:00pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held. Bishop Marion Richey of Buffalo will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Activities Center of Absolut Care, Fifth and Maple Streets, Allegany, NY 14706. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
