June A. Falk "Last of a Generation"
Olean, NY June A. Falk of 901 W. Henley Street passed away Tuesday (March 12, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital after a long illness.
Born May 16, 1922 in Olean she was the daughter of William J. and Florence Paventa Rickey. On November 28, 1952 in Coudersport, PA she married Willard R. Falk who survives.
Mrs. Falk was a 1941 graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean most of her life, and at her house on W. Henley St. for the past forty six years.
She first worked for the former Daystrom Furniture Co. and later for the former Mountain Clinic, both in Olean. She was not only a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother but was also more than just an exceptional aunt to many of her nieces and nephews. Her specialty was sewing, cooking and baking.
Surviving besides her husband of sixty years are two daughters Marcia (John) Baire of Olean and Martha (Joseph) Burr of Cuba; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by six brothers Frederick Rickey, Frank Rickey, Stanley Rickey, August Rickey, Arnold Rickey and William "Red" Rickey and three sisters Beatrice Hall, Helen Baker and Della Sawdey.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday (March 14, 2013) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held at 3:00pm. Rev. Frank Hayman, pastor of the Allegany Baptist Church, will officiate.
