James E. Wilber Olean, NY James E. Wilber of 1203 Reed St. passed away peacefully Tuesday (January 8, 2013) in the Olean General Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side. Born March 24, 1939 in Allegany he was the son of Richard and Mary I. Giardini Deibler. On December 22, 1984 in Portville he married Kimberly Dieteman who survives. Affectionately known as "Goofy" by his many family and friends, he graduated from Olean High School and had been a self employed handyman for many years in the area. He was a member of the Christopher Columbus Lodge in Olean where he enjoyed years of playing bocce ball. He could always be found around the softball fields for games and loved being with his children and grandchildren. He was a remarkably strong man, determined fighter and will be remembered as an unequaled husband and father. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters Stacy Wilber and Courtney Wilber, both of Olean; one son Cody Wilber of Olean; a loving grandson Marcus Wilber of Olean and another grandson Cameron Reynolds of Salamanca; three siblings Rita Wilber of Olean, John (Darlene) Wilber of Little Genesee and Peggy Wilber of Olean and several nieces and nephews, including his special nephew Brian Parks. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Friday (January 11, 2013) from 11:00am until time of services at 12:00pm. Rev. Chuck Maine, pastor of Epic Church in Olean, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
