Jane A. Fisher
Olean, NY Jane A. Fisher, formerly of 3019 W. State St., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday (October 18, 2012) at the Olean General Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born January 23, 1930 in Olean, she was the daughter of Richard John and Ruth Wright Phearsdorf. On May 5, 1951, she married Carl V. Fisher, who predeceased her November 5, 1982.
Mrs. Fisher was a graduate of Olean High School. She worked at the former W.T. Grant Co. and also worked as a switchboard operator and medical records clerk at the former St. Francis Hospital. She was a faithful, loving wife, mother and grandmother who raised her family with wisdom and care and leaves with them a legacy and heritage of faith in Christ.
She and her husband were two of the founding members of the Allegany Baptist Church where she offered her talents as a gifted pianist. She also taught for years at a Children's Bible Club each Wednesday. She lived a life for others, always doing something kind for her family and friends and leaving smiles and memories with each person she touched. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and her antiques, as well as auctions and sales where she relished the idea of getting a "good deal".
Surviving are three children whom she loved with her whole being; Richard J. (Rosrita) Fisher, Diana L. (William) Hettrick and David J. (Carol) Fisher, all of Allegany; six beloved grandchildren John Fisher, Julie Fisher, Elizabeth Legere, Daniel Hettrick, Melissa Fisher and Michael Fisher; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Alice Ripley and one brother, Leslie Phearsdorf.
You will never be forgotten, and we will always love you.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd.
