Olean- Natividad Mendez, formerly of Olean, passed away Thursday (September 13, 2012) at the Cuba Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility, surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 8, 1929 in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Manuel and Andrea Oquenda Mendez.
Ms. Mendez was a devoted homemaker for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, ceramic painting, cooking and she loved dancing.
Surviving are her six children Carmen (Domingo) Ramirez Valentine of Puerto Rico, Raymond (Zenalda) Ramirez of Queens, NY, Lucy (Tony) Ortiz of Olean, Margarita (Ralph) Nunez of Olean, Elizabeth (Johnny) Rodriguez of Horseheads,NY, Richie (Rosa) Ramirez of Florida; one brother; three sisters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son Carlos Ramirez.
There will be no services for Ms. Mendez at this time. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean NY 14760.
